The last time the ladies lifted the trophy was way back in 2004 and the road to today's success has not been a walk in the park.

Galway kept the girls on their toes, but they were no match for the girls in yellow and blue.

According to Tipperary Live there were 'Heroes all over the field on the day,' with captain Karen Kennedy scoring an impressive goal and three points throughout the game and Eimear McGrath showing her skills with her free takes.

Taking to the stand, and speaking to the crowd Captain Karen Kennedy lifted the cup as the crowd cheered and brought a smile to the faces who had waited for this moment for 20 years.

But it wasn't all plain sailing for the girls as the Galway girls put them through their paces.

Galway started on a positive note with an eight-point to two-point lead, but the Tipperary girls fought back, determined to claim the cup!
