NASCAR FANS VOTED ON THEIR FAVORITE TRACK IN THE SPORT

Every NASCAR driver has their own favorite track with reasons ranging from the quality of the ground to the pageantry to the fans. But what track gets the most love from the fans themselves?

According to a new ranking from USA Today, viewers ranked their favorite tracks in the country. What they found was that the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania came out on top. The main reason for the pick that they seemed to find was that the raceway has a habit of featuring a ton of crashes and collisions.

"Known as "The Tricky Triangle," Pocono Raceway sits in honeymoon country, but chances are there won’t be too many words of affection passed between drivers at the end of races here. For being a 2.5-mile-long ultra-wide superspeedway, Pocono has seen a bizarre number of bump-and-runs and multi-car incidents over the decades that it's called the NASCAR calendar home," the outlet wrote.

Talladega Superspeedway came in ninth, Dayton International Speedway came in sixth and the Sonoma Raceway came in third.

Here is the full ranking from USA Today:

  1. Pocono Raceway
  2. Chicago Street Race
  3. Sonoma Raceway
  4. Michigan International Speedway
  5. Bristol Motor Speedway
  6. Daytona International Speedway
  7. New Hampshire Motor Speedway
  8. Las Vegas Motor Speedway
