COLE CUSTER SAYS RIVAL NASCAR DRIVER 'TRIED TO KILL' HIM DURING SATURDAY'S RACE

After Saturday's Xfinity Series race at Charlotte, it's clear that Cole Custer isn't exactly a big fan of Austin Hill.

Custer wrecked out of the race with around 17 laps to go, as Hill ran into his bumper and sent him flying into the infield support wall

Custer took a hard shot, but he was more concerned with Hill after making his way out of the infield care center.

"He put me in the fence off [turn] four and we hit on the frontstretch because he - I was gonna pinch down and he decided to try to go up and side draft me," Custer explained in an interview with Frontstretch.

"Then he tried to kill me on the backstretch when he wrecked our car and killed the rear clip. I slapped my head against the back of the headrest."

Custer says that he doesn't mind hard racing, but that he does draw a line at being intentionally wrecked.

"It's ridiculous," Custer added. "If he wants to drive like a pissed-off teenager, that's ridiculous."

Custer is the defending Xfinity Series champion, winning the title last season after moving back full time. He has Cup Series experience driving for Stewart-Haas Racing, and was even named the 2020 Cup Series Rookie of the Year.

Hill is an Xfnity Series veteran with nearly 100 starts at that level, winning eight races in NASCAR's secondary national touring series.

Hill and Custer are currently Nos. 1 and 2 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings as the calendar turns to the summer.

With both drivers racing for a championship, expect there to be more bad blood between them as the season goes on.
