  • The Swiss press have criticised England's 'precarious form' at Euro 2024

The Swiss media have claimed that Murat Yakin's side do not have anything to fear when they face England in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 on Saturday.

England have been unconvincing throughout the tournament but they made it through to the last eight after coming from behind to beat Slovakia 2-1 after extra-time.

The Three Lions will now face Switzerland, who knocked out holders Italy with a 2-0 win.

Blick, the largest newspaper in Switzerland, believe that Gareth Southgate's team won't pose a major threat.

The publication referenced England's 'precarious form'.

In addition, Blick commented on England's lack of goals at Euro 2024 so far - they have only scored four goals in as many matches.

The last competitive meeting between the two countries came in the Nations League 3rd place play-off in 2019, when England won on penalties with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford amongst the scorers in the shootout.

In total, England have won 19, drawn five and lost three of their games against Switzerland.

Switzerland finished in second place in Group A at this summer's tournament, taking five points from three games.

England, meanwhile, also amassed five points in the group stages and ended up finishing top of Group C.

However, England's performances at Euro 2024 have often been underwhelming.
