PRINCE WILLIAM WATCHES ASTON VILLA TAKE ON OLYMPIACOS

  • Prince William was in attendance for Aston Villa's match against Olympiacos
  • The Prince of Wales went through all the emotions during the European clash

Prince William looked delighted tonight as he put his royal duties aside to watch his beloved Aston Villa's Europa Conference League semi-final clash against Greek visitors Olympiacos.

The Prince of Wales is a self-confessed Clarets supporter and evidently refused to miss one of the club's most historic nights in recent memory on the day of his daughter Princess Charlotte's ninth birthday.

The royal was seen actively engaging in conversations with those around him in the executive boxes and pointed out various things happening inside the ground prior to kick-off.

William has been involved in helping his father, King Charles III, ongoing battle with cancer, along with caring for his wife the Princess of Wales who is also undergoing treatment for cancer, but looked relaxed as he made the trip to Birmingham to watch his beloved Villa in action.

Tucked away inside the luxury private seating area at the 42,640-seater stadium, William was animated alongside friends that had joined him and appeared to go through a range of emotions in the first-half.

He cut a nervous but focused figure pre-match and was seen pursing his lips while ominously waiting for the game to get underway.

The heir to the throne then pumped his fist in a release of celebratory emotion after thinking Leon Bailey had given the hosts the lead before his goal was disallowed for a foul.

William largely remained on his feet during the build-up to proceedings getting started before later taking his seat and matching the anxious faces of the majority of home fans in attendance.
