ENGLAND FANS SAY THE 'GAME IS GONE' AND THE 'WOKE MOB HAVE DONE IT NOW' AS THEY SPOT REFEREE'S EUROS TATTOO DURING DRAW WITH DENMARK

  • England drew 1-1 with Denmark in the second match of Euro 2024 on Thursday
  • Some viewers were not impressed with referee Artur Soares Dias' tattoos

Some keen-eyed England supporters spotted the referee's arm tattoos during Thursday's draw with Denmark and they didn't seem too impressed.

Portuguese official Artur Soares Dias took charge of the Group C clash in Frankfurt, which ended 1-1 after goals from Harry Kane and Morten Hjulmand.

And viewers noticed something about Dias' appearance that isn't too common when it comes to referees.

The 44-year-old had a large tattoo on each tricep which were partly visible under his short-sleeved shirt.

One was the logo for Euro 2020 while the other was for the Olympics in the same year.

The official reportedly gets tattoos of all the tournaments he officiates in.

And supporters all seemed to have similar responses to the ink.

An account on X wrote: 'this referee has a Euro 2020 tattoo. Game is well and truly gone'.

Another wrote: 'a referee with tattoos, my god the woke mob have really done it now'.

Others simply couldn't ever remember seeing a top level referee with visible body art While one joked that former Sky presenter Richard Key was going to 'lose his mind'.

England have opened the finals with a narrow win and an underwhelming draw, just as they did three years ago.

Sunday’s performance in the 1-0 win against Serbia raised concerns that were exacerbated against Denmark, with the team struggling across the board and booed by fans following the 1-1 draw in Frankfurt.

Despite the sense of concern around the displays, England head into Tuesday evening’s final Group C game against Slovenia in Cologne top of the group.

Their four-point haul will likely be enough to qualify as, at worst, a third-placed side, but the focus is on winning the Euros rather than limping through to the knockout phase.
